ARD en directe

The ARD is an association of public broadcasters in Germany founded in 1950. Currently, the ARD consists of nine national broadcasters, which provide and distribute the community television programs Das Erste, One and tagesschau24 as well as their own regional television and radio programs. In addition, Deutsche Welle, which broadcasts exclusively abroad, is a member of ARD. The ARD is the bearer of the German Radio Archive. Together with ZDF and Deutschlandradio, ARD forms the public broadcasting service in Germany. ARD and ZDF jointly operate the TV channels Phoenix and KiKA, as well as the TV channels 3sat (with Austria and Switzerland) and Arte (with France) together with other national public broadcasters.
