Canal Sur TV is a Spanish autonomous free-to-air television channel, the main Radio and Television channel of Andalusia (RTVA), the regional radio and television of Andalusia. The signal was launched on February 28, 1989, coinciding with the Andalusian Day holiday. At that time, the television offer in Spain was reduced to the two public state channels (TVE), except in some other Autonomous Communities such as Catalonia, the Basque Country or Galicia that already had their autonomous channel.
