The movie Channel (CCTV-6 Movies), the full name of the channel is “The Movie Satellite Channel of the Propaganda Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China”, formerly known as the “Film Satellite Channel of the Ministry of Radio, Film and Television”, “The Film Satellite Channel of the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television, and the Film Satellite Channel of the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television”, is a comprehensive film professional channel in mainland China. It is produced and broadcast by the “Film Satellite Channel Program Production Center of the Propaganda Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China”, a subsidiary of the Propaganda Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, but the operation of the channel actually belongs to China Film Group.Due to the use of the brand and logo of China Central Television, the channel is also known as the “China Central Television Movie Channel”. It is the only national-level professional movie channel, mainly broadcasting in Mandarin.The channel was successfully tested on November 30, 1995, and officially launched on January 1, 1996. It covers the whole country through Zhongxing 6B and Zhongxing 9 satellites, and the satellite signal is encrypted for all-weather broadcasting.
