The first antecedent of the Teledeporte brand was a sports program presented by Frederic Porta and Elena Sánchez and broadcast by TVE 1 in the late 1980s with that title.1 As a channel, Teledeporte was launched on February 12, 1994 through the Hispasat satellite and began covering the JJS.Lillehammer winter OO. It was the first Spanish channel on this topic, although foreign channels such as the international version of Eurosport (in English and German) or the German DSF were already tuned in via satellite in Spain, it preceded Sportmanía, the Spanish version of Eurosport, Canal+ Deporte and Telecinco Sport.
