DR2 is DR's second licence-funded television channel and sister channel to the wider and more popular DR1. DR2 is Denmark's community channel. News every hour; community reports; documentaries; global outlook; Denmark's best hosts; and the venue for DK's most important political discussions.
DR2 first went on the air in 1996. From being a tv channel with cultural and social content, lifestyle, food and film, DR2 has with relaunch in 2013 become a more focused channel with News and current affairs content, with analysis, background, documentary, fiction and satire. We call it a community channel that has as a central goal to generate debate. This should not only be done to break opinions - we want to create a channel that can contribute to a more qualified social debate in Denmark. It is important to discuss both big and heavy topics, topics that affect many and topics that unfold in more overlooked parts of society.
