Dresden Fernsehen is a local Saxon television station for the Dresden conurbation. For the first time, it went on the air as an independent program on June 10, 1996, after the regional program "Drehscheibe Dresden" had been broadcast regularly on the Dresden frequency of RTL (Regionalfenster 18:00-18:30), later VOX, since September 26, 1994. Initially, the program of Dresden Fernsehen consisted of the hourly repeated turntable as well as a screen newspaper with music.
