Noticias RCN is a Colombian newscast that is broadcast by the RCN Channel. It airs four times a day on Weekdays, and twice on weekends. Its current director is Claudia Gurisatti. RCN Noticias was born on March 21, 1995, under the name of RCN 7:30 as morning news, presented by Fernando González Pacheco and Lucía Esparza Baena. The study was set up in partnership with AP and Reuters. In 1998, RCN switched from being a programmer to a private channel. At that time, the newscast was broadcast only at night (9 p.m.), with the presentation of Vicky Dávila and Ana María Trujillo. Subsequently, as the programming was expanded, it reached three broadcasts a day, and currently four during the week and two on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. As of December 13, 2007, the newscast began to offer an informative alerts service via SMS, thus emulating the alerts service offered by the newspaper El Tiempo.
