Telebasel is a regional Swiss television channel. On June 13, 1993, Telebasel broadcast the first program. Telebasel is the only Swiss regional TV channel that does not have a publishing house or private investors behind it. The channel is financially, economically and politically independent. Around 60% of the financing is provided by advertising, sponsoring and TV production services. 40% of the financing is provided by public service funds from the OFCOM concession and the cable networks Basel, Allschwil (BL) and Schönenbuch (BL).
