Télévision française 1, better known by its acronym TF1, is the first and oldest French national generalist television channel created on January 6, 1975 following the dissolution of the French Television broadcasting Office and which succeeds the first ORTF channel. It began to be privatized in 1986. This privatization process ends on April 15, 1987, the chain passes from the status of a national program company to that of a public limited company, whose main shareholder is the Bouygues group (up to 45.6%). Since 1992, the head office of the chain has been located in Boulogne-Billancourt.
