TV Cultura (or just Cultura) is a Brazilian public television network based in São Paulo, capital of the homonymous state. A public and commercial television station of an educational and cultural nature, it was founded on September 20, 1960 by Diários Associados and reopened on June 15, 1969 by Fundação Padre Anchieta, headquartered in the capital of São Paulo, generating educational television programs that are broadcast throughout Brazil via satellite and through its affiliates and retransmitters in various regions of Brazil. It is maintained by Fundação Padre Anchieta, a non-profit foundation that receives public funds, through the government of the state of São Paulo, and private, through advertisements, cultural support and donations from large corporations.
