La 1 is the first television channel of Televisión Española, a group belonging to the public corporation Radio Televisión Española. It has a general programming for all audiences. It is the first television channel that broadcast in Spain, when its official broadcasts began on October 28, 1956. Since then it has received several names such as VHF, Primero Programa, Programa Nacional, Primera Cadena, TVE1, La Primera or the current La 1. The name Televisión Española has also been used to refer only to this channel, although the group manages more channels. From 2009 to 2012 he was the audience leader in Spain. La1 is a network with a large number of programs of its own production, which are, in most cases, the most watched and most widely broadcast. His main successes are series such as "Cuéntame cómo pasó“ and ”Águila Roja“, higher audience productions, followed by the telenovela ”Amar en Tiempos Revueltos". Its newscasts are also the most watched in the programming, both the Newscast and Weekly Report. La1 also broadcasts the most important sporting events, such as the Champions League, the Tour de France or the Vuelta a España.
