China Central Television Sports Channel (CCTV-5 Sports) is a sports channel owned by China Central Television that mainly broadcasts in Mandarin. This channel is the earliest and now the largest professional sports channel owned by China Central Television. It has the exclusive right to report on many of the world's top events in mainland China. It was launched on March 1, 1994 and officially launched on January 1, 1995. It covers the whole country through Zhongxing 6B and Xinnuo 3 satellites, and the satellite signal is encrypted and broadcast.Broadcast 24 hours a day, it was the only professional sports channel covering the whole of mainland China before the launch of the CCTV Sports event channel.
