Africa24 TV is the first global news channel on Africa and the most watched satellite channel in French-speaking Africa. Africa 24 has a global dimension because it is intended to be seen everywhere: information from the World seen by Africans and information from Africa for the World. Africa 24 wants to compete with the American CNN, the British BBC World News, the French France 24, the pan-European Euronews, the German Deutsche Welle, or the Qatari Al Jazeera. Launched in 2009, Africa 24 is comparable to the American news channel CNN, the British BBC World News, the French channel France 24, the pan-European channel Euronews, the German channel Deutsche Welle, and the Arab and English news channel Al Jazeera.
