Canal 1 is a Colombian free-to-air television channel founded on June 13, 1954 as the first television station in the country. The channel has been promoted as an alternative to the Caracol and RCN television channels after they occupied the largest share of television screen after the opening of private channels in Colombia in 1998.Its production and broadcast center are located in the facilities of CM&, and NTC, production companies that make up the channel's programming. It has an alliance with Fox Telecolombia and Producciones Televideo for the production of series and telenovelas to be broadcast on the signal.
